Hey there! I am pleased to say that we have a new piece of art from our collaborator John, who has done some incredible work for us in the past. I’m still not quite able to convince him to continue working with us again for now, since he’s got other projects, but he at least set us off with a lovely going away present. Let’s continue on, and look at how John was able to bring Alicia Mane to life in his style.
After his takes on Adelia, Iliana and Venathryn, we knew that we were in good hands with John at the helm. His initial sketch showed Alicia in a bit of a battle-worn garb, though you could tell right from the get-go that her indomitable confidence wasn’t shaken.
When we moved up to a fuller version of the character, beyond the sketch, you could see the tremendous power that Alicia wields. He made her flames really shape a lot of the work, and it practically exploded off the screen when we first saw it.
Better yet, when you see it in full color, the composition looks even better. There’s an awesome complement between the reds, whites and browns that really makes everything pop. I couldn’t have been more thankful for this final piece.
That’s not to say that I wouldn’t want to continue. John, if and when you eventually see this, I hope you know we’re always open to continue along with our work. There are tons of Tellest characters who would benefit from your style of art, and I’d love to have your talent represented here further. Spread the word folks!
