Greetings Otherworld travelers! It’s a quiet week, at least for books we’re looking at here, but I’ve got a fun and charming visit to a different version of our world that is sure to delight readers who want something a little bit different. And it sets up an additional five books, so there’s that! Let’s get into it though. Today, we’re looking at The Guardian of Light.
It is clear right from the get go that author Shaun Connaughton has a huge passion for fantasy and storytelling. Now, we may have just passed the holiday season, but it’s always a great time to see what magic we can throw into the world, and Connaughton does that to great effect in the first book in this six book series. The Guardian of Light is not your typical fantasy, mixing contemporary mechanics with that which is a bit more traditional and magical. Connaughton balances everything nicely, creating a concoction that is charming, irreverent and exciting.
I can not tell you much about this story, without giving too much away.
What I can tell you is, this is a modern fantasy which contains the following:
Magic, Gnomes, Gods, Elves, Goblins, Dwarves, Atlantis, Fairies, Wizards, Trolls, Elemental, and so much more.
This story takes a look at a beloved timeless figure in a very fresh new way that will spark the inner child in any grown reader. So if you like action, fantasy, adventure in a epic book series for teenagers and up.
I want you to enjoy this 1st book in a 6 book series and discover, who is the Guardian of Light?
Connaughton throws a lot at the wall here, and surprisingly, it all sticks rather well. The combination of everything from holiday magic to a monstrous creature stalking fantastic beings will have readers furiously turning the pages, one after the other. And as mentioned earlier, this story leads into several more—by the end of Connaughton’s first tale, you’ll start to see the pieces begin to fall into place. There’s no better time to pick up this book than right now. Check out The Guardian of Light on Amazon today!
