After a grueling eight-month mission, Evan Abel and Solara Bndis are on holiday when they are suddenly attacked during a flight. Barely managing to survive, they are left stranded on an unknown and primitive planet. While there, they make a startling discovery that leads to a series of improbable events with far-reaching implications.

Accepting promotion, Hara Bothwell is on her final voyage commanding Courageous. All is well until an unknown force hijacks Courageous and Outreach and hurtles them away from the Coalition at unimaginable speeds. The cruisers arrive in hostile space, where they are immediately thrust into conflict against two highly advanced civilizations. The captains try to defend themselves, but they cannot cope with the alien technology. Many lives are at stake in a hopeless battle.

The entire foundation of the Coalition is shattered when their understanding of their place in the galaxy is upended. The forebears thwart all their efforts to withdraw and return home while the crews struggle to find solutions to the unfolding dangers.

Seven books into a great series with familiar characters, Andrew Charles is beginning to feel like he’s inviting readers home with every new release.  But we can’t linger there too long.  Home is a place that we feel safe, and in The Footprints of the Forebears, we’re anything but.  There are new, possibly cataclysmic dangers in store for the universe here, but certainly for the characters that have come to mean a lot to us.  The odds are dire, but it’s also interesting to see how to unravel such a dangerous knot.  With such incredible stakes at play, and with the talent and zeal that Charles injects in this latest entry in the series, could it be the last?  Or is it the start of a brand new adventure, with new revelations and new exploration to be had?  There’s only one way to find out.  Check out The Footprints of the Forebears: A Coalition Series Book – 7 on Amazon today!  If you act now through Wednesday, you’ll get the book absolutely free!
