Lumibugs look like fireflies, except their abdomens do not glow in a specific color. Lumibugs are said to change their blinking color based on their mood. Therefore, when threatened, content, scared, calm, and mating, they all display different colors and shades.
Lumibugs are generally found in warm weather climates, during the day. For a brief while during sunset, they are also active, which is when they are most noticeable.
Death and Offspring
When it is time for a lumibug to pass on naturally, it is said that they fly high into the sky, where they become one with the stars.
Whenever a shooting star is seen, it supposedly is dropping off the larva of adult lumibugs.
