Greetings, travelers!  We are ending on a wonderful high note for the week, closing out one of the best weeks of the Otherworld that we’ve had in a long time.  If you like your stories to be tinged with a touch of darkness, ash flaking off the pages, and perhaps with a beady-eyed, winged companion at your side, you’re going to love today’s journey.  Read on to learn more about Vexxed.

Author Ilya Voskresensky is a master craftsman when it comes to storytelling, and all that can be seen shining through in their debut, Vexxed.  Right from the opening pages, readers are introduced to compelling characters, not all of who are even humanoid or in league with the living.  It’s a hauntingly fun adventure, even though it has shadowy tendrils tugging at you from all around.  The author excels at keeping to a pace that’s just right for the tale, not too sluggish, and not too fiendish, despite the sort of bodies that might be dug up beneath the muddy ground.  It’s a cleverly written journey, with snappy chapters, a snappier cast, and all the intrigue that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Contains necromancy, snarky birds, ill-advised enchantments, blood-soaked flirtation, and zero regard for decorum. Noble intentions not included.

A routine graveyard job turns into trouble with a vampire, tension with a noble’s daughter, and encounters with her father that should’ve ended in exile—not dessert.
Cleaning up the mess would be easier if he hadn’t already gotten too close to the fire. And kissed it.
