Concept Art – Valtega TowerSphere Arena

Greetings travelers, and welcome to our new take on a TowerSphere arena, and one that might be very unlike what you would expect!  We’re looking at the TowerSphere arena for Valtega today, which isn’t actually in the city, but takes place north of the city.  Since Valtega is so busy, and it doesn’t really allow for the building of a new arena, they take to the sea, and a giant ship takes the place of their TowerSphere battlefield.

Our second image of today has a little more details, and you can see the boats in the background taking position around the arena ship.  That’s because those are the only options you have to watch the TowerSphere matches take shape (although there are rumors of wizards preparing scrying devices that would get a visual from those same ships, and essentially broadcast them to a location within the city.

You’ll also see the towers here look a bit different than the towers we’ve had in most of our other cities.  Time will tell if we kept to those!

We got rid of the sort of underwater foliage flourish atop the towers, as we knew that the flags had to appear there, and we didn’t want anything to detract from what we typically see there.  We did keep the water splashing features, which adds a cool look to the arena, although it likely doesn’t affect the gameplay all that much.

And with that, it’s time to look at our three top players from the Valtega team, the Corsairs.  Retrus O’Ryan is the oldest of our trio, and appears to be the leader of the team.  On his right side, his brother Seeger shows off some of his interesting equipment, and opposite him, Lyla Brenna carefully balances his sword, ready for whatever combat comes their way.

That’ll wrap us up for today, but we’ll be back with more art next week!
