Concept Art – Rhinotaur

Greetings, travelers!  It is my great pleasure to introduce you to a new artist in the Tellest roster.  We’ve only been able to tap this artist for one project so far, but we’re fully anticipating using them again in the future.  LazyArtistPH is someone who I happened upon when I first started using Etsy, and it just seemed like a match made in heaven.  Let’s dive into what they worked on, shall we?

When we first talked to LA, we collaboratively decided that a Rhinotaur concept piece that was a little more in line with what Paul did for his concepts would help out a great deal.  We started off with a sketch, and you could tell right off the bat that we decided to go the warrior route with this powerful being.

Before adding color into the mix, it still almost looks just as you would expect things to be.  The rhinotaur here just looks like he is standing around with muted colors on his body and his weapon.  But LazyArtist is anything but what his name might imply!

The extra coat of paint makes a world of difference.  With subtle shades of blue and cream, this picture tells a lot.  There are so many subtle details that you catch the longer you look at it, and it certainly looks great, accordingly.  This was a wonderful first foray into a collaboration with this new artist.

We’re still hoping that we can come together to do more work with LA, but we need to get some things in order first.  One of the things we had talked about was having some official dwarven concept art done, so maybe that’s something we can get in the queue!
