Character Art – Anson Fysis

Greetings, travelers!  It’s time to look at another of Silky Noire’s takes on one of our characters.  We’re looking at characters from the Nine, who are heroes who went into the fabled Ruins of Kathka, which had disappeared for centuries before being discovered again by Luca Kreegan.  One of those characters was Anson Fysis…

In the previous timeline, Anson was a bard with a beautiful singing voice, which he could command to carry for miles and miles.  In this new timeline, Anson isn’t quite so lucky.  When he and the others were in the ruins, they happened upon something that changed his life forever.  He was cursed by demonic magic, and now, every time he attempts to speak, a sort of eldritch language emerges from his lips.  It’s like the sound of a thousand hissing spiders sneaking out from his throat.  It maddens everyone who hears it.

What’s worse for Anson is that if he does try to speak, it’s almost like he feels those would-be spiders in his throat.  An uncanny sensation, like nothing he’s ever experienced, it burns, it freezes, it feels like he can’t breathe, all at once.  You’ll notice on a close glance that Anson has scars on his neck.  That’s because when last he spoke, he tore into his throat with his fingernails, leaving bloody trails embedded in his skin.  He’s effectively mute now, which is why you see him with his lute instead.  He tends to communicate through non-vocalized music, and Silky did a great job of creating a story for him out of a solitary static image.

That’ll be it for now, but we’ve got some more work that Silky did for us that you’ll see soon.  Keep your eyes peeled!
