Greeting, travelers! You’re seeing something that no one else has seen yet except the people working on the game (or ridiculously close to it). These three images that you’re about to see here today are the first images from our second expansion, Quantum Quest: Glittering Halls.
The main premise of Glittering Halls is that we’re adding a few new things to the mix, namely a new mechanic: treasures. Treasures give the player an increased say in what happens in their game. Whereas QQ will always have some level of RNG that will determine what happens in the game, having the ability to hold onto treasures, buy them, trade them, etc., adds a whole new bit of structure to the game.
There’s one other thing that we’re doing to give the game a bit more of a fresh coat of paint, so to speak, but we’ll show that off a little bit down the line. For now, we’re just showing off a few art pieces, and we’ll give you the names associated with them.
The featured image above is the Terraform lantern. The name should sound familiar, as Steven Bellshaw gave us our first look at it in concept art form. It changes an area (like a dungeon chamber) to something else entirely.
Below, you’ll see the Tome of Recall. This ancient book is used to absorb the powers that someone may have obtained over a lifetime, and gives that knowledge to those who carry the book.
Finally, we have Fitz’s Whistle, which is a sort of tongue-in-cheek reference to the recorder from The Legend of Zelda, being as it’s not actually a whistle at all. It allows the player to essentially warp to another area.
I hope you enjoyed these very quick looks at some of the art from our next Quantum Quest expansion. As you know, we still haven’t released the first expansion, but we’re hoping to change that sooner rather than later. Keep your eyes peeled on information from that!
