Greetings travelers, and welcome to another of our concept art pieces with Steven Bellshaw. We’ve been working on getting this kind of material because as Tellest marches forward, we’re planning on expanding our offerings in some big ways. While these treasures are certainly going to make their way into the stories and the games we’ve been working on, they’ll also be great for expanded materials, like books of treasures and bestiaries and the like. So it was a huge boon finding someone as talented as Steven to work with.
We often concern ourselves with our legacies, that which we leave behind. But what if, rather than having our exploits be nothing but words in a book or an epitaph on a stone, we could have our greatest knowledge live on even in our absence? That’s the nature of the Tome of Recall, which we’re looking at in today’s post. The very idea of it is that the book will keep record of a person’s talents, and then bestow them on someone else if they should activate the tome.
So, one of the things that we absolutely knew that we had to do was add a bit of magic to the piece. There’s a subtle glow beneath the golden overlay, and you can see another magical glow from the pages themselves.
In the final version of our magical new tome, we see that Steven added some intricate inlay as well, making it pop even more. With a world as magical as Tellest, you can be sure that there is an abundance of reasons to have something like this tome at hand.
That’ll wrap us up for the day, but we’ll have more art from the world of Tellest coming to you soon!
