Concept Art – Shipwreck

Greetings travelers, and welcome to another art post on the Tellest site.  Today’s just going to be a quick one, because we don’t have a lot of process to show off.  We worked with Azot again, and he’s always real quick to get his ideas over to us.

We start off with the penultimate shot above, simply because the second image is too funny to start with.  So, our whole theme with working together with Azot this time around was that we wanted to go high and low, sky and water.  The shipwreck scene felt as though it would help us to get a good feel for some underwater tales that we may be working on in the future, and even presently. He did an awesome job of giving us a beautiful scuttled ship and a fearsome sea serpent that wriggles through it.

Now, you’ll see another black and white image here, and there’s one very important thing that you’ll notice is different there.  Yep, Azot gave us a scuba diver in contemporary gear in the first image.  Keep in mind, we’ve been working together for years at this point, and it’s very clear that we’re working on medieval-style fantasy here.  Just one of those things where you just absent-mindedly pop something in there one day.  Maybe he was testing me to make sure I saw it!

The final version of the picture is even more gorgeous.  With a fresh coat of paint, everything just looks so beautiful and exotic.  Still wouldn’t want to get in a tussle with that creature, but wouldn’t mind sneaking a peek at a forgotten wreckage like this.
