Hey there!  So, I’ve got one last set of previews to show you for the merge-worthy monsters in our game, Quantum Quest: Merge Dungeon.  While we spent time showing off the lesser golems last time around, it’s time to look at some sturdier monsters this time around…

If you’ll recall, the last time we showed off the golems, we ended with sand.  They start to get infinitely tougher from here on out, starting with stone golems.  The golem-maker puts these creatures together with his magic, and now they’re a bit more substantial.

Our next golem is even more imposing, and almost has the look of a boxer.  The granite golem is a site to behold, and is a monster you certainly wouldn’t want to mess with.

Once you reach the obsidian golem, you get a true appreciation for all the hard work that must go into creating these golems.  This nearly indestructible automaton is a great help to any wizard, or a guard for a fabulous treasure.  And just keep in mind, after this golem, which is number 7, there are 23 bigger, badder golems lying in wait!

And that’s it for our golem previews!  After this set of stone golems, they start moving into metal golems and jeweled golems before they start getting absolutely insane.  We’re also actually wrapped up for Merge Dungeon in general for another two months or so before we start showing off some other cool stuff.  With as much work as we put into this casual little merge game, I’ve got enough to show off for ages!  Until next time!

Howdy!  So, at this point it has been months since our last merge chambers that we showed off from Merge Dungeon.  Today we’re showing our current final chamber (the first of two sets, though).  But if we’re lucky, by the time this post goes live, we’ll be talking about what comes next in the game.  Technically we already have two more chambers coming, as we introduced equipment in the latest update in January.  We’ll see.  Anyway…

Our first little guy is a wooden golem, the very basic element of golem workmanship.  He’s cute, and almost looks sad, but after a while, he’ll be transformed into a bigger, stronger creation, until he’ll be one of the most powerful units in the Merge Dungeon arena!

Up next, we have the mud golem.  In here, you can see that there are some sticks and logs in there, so clearly they used the wooden golem as a basis, and upgraded around it.  The mud golem doesn’t have a lot of stability, so he needs another upgrade.

The clay golem is almost there.  He’s got a firm upper body, and a splotchy set of legs, but he’s the first golem that really starts to pack a punch.  He’s tough and can offer up some nice defensive abilities to help your monster army out.

The sand golem would seem a little counterproductive at first, but with a little magic at hand, it can be even stronger than the clay golem.  It can reconstitute itself more easily, and shape itself into anything it needs.  It’s not quite as tough, but it’s still a force to be reckoned with.

That’ll close up our group of golems today, but we have another sneak peek at three of them coming in just a few weeks.  We’ll start looking at the sturdier of the golems, but even after that, there will be 20 more that you can only see in Merge Dungeon!  See you soon!

Hey there game fans!  A while back we showed off some of monsters from Merge Dungeon, and now we’re ready to dive even further into the unknown.  We’re spoiling some of one of the later chambers, so if you don’t want to see these monsters, turn back now.  We’ve got 12 monsters to show off though, and they’re ready to rise from their graves to stave off some hardy adventurers.  Let’s dive right in.

When it comes to the undead, we start with the basics.  As of the time of this writing (which should be well after the game releases, fingers crossed), we were still considering calling the undead chamber the “hero-deboning chamber” but I’m not sure how much that will stick.  We wanted to make sure that the undead in our game weren’t too scary.  It is a casual game, after all, and we wanted just about anyone to be able to play it.

The next skeleton up is armed, making him a bit more of a problem for would-be adventurers.  Still, with how long he’s been in the ground, there’s a good chance those weapons won’t amount to much!

Our highest level skeleton has some snazzy armor and dual wields.  While those bones might be brittle, the weapons certainly aren’t, so anyone daring to face off against the skeleton warrior better bring their A game!

After brush past the skeletons, we move on to our slightly fleshier monsters.  This zombie looks like he needs a vacation.  Since he’s in the Living Dungeon (or at least getting shipped off to it), there’s no hope for that.  His only hope is evolving into something stronger.

Ghouls are a little more eager to cause some damage, and a little less squishy to boot.  This guy’s fangs and claws are almost just as bad as those skeleton weapons we saw earlier!

The scariest of our lower tier “zombies” is the ghast.  Magic has kept him fierce and hungry, and unsuspecting heroes are in for a rude awakening when this guy leaps out of the shadows.

We wanted to shake things up from the slime chamber, so the undead chamber doesn’t constrict itself to just sets of three monsters.  The “zombies” end up going for a few more monsters.  This revenant has a little more sentience than the previous baddies.

Wights are like revenants but with a bit more meat on their bones, so to speak.  They’re smart enough to armor up and bring powerful weapons to bear against their enemies.

The abomination might seem like  step back, since it doesn’t have any equipment, but this abyssal amalgamation comes stocked to the brim with potent magic.

After zombies, we move on to mummies.  These ancient undead are a bit more mystical, and provide a good amount of monster essence to the dungeon master.

A step up from the regular mummy, royal mummies are guardians of ancient kings and queens.  They were buried with more finery and weapons, which make them worthy adversaries.

The final monster we’re showing off in the first set of undead monsters is the pharaoh mummy.  He (or she) brings powerful magic to the table, which can be used against adventurers, or to bring plentiful monster essence to the dungeon.

This is a nice look at the 12 monsters we’ve shown off so far.  Come back here in another three weeks when we show off the rest of the undead scourge!

Howdy folks.  A few weeks back, we showed the basic interface of our game Quantum Quest: Merge Dungeon.  It’s important to see how all the pieces come together to create a board.  Just as important—if not more so—are the monsters of this game.  After all, this is a game about merging monsters to create better ones.  When we initially recruited Sergei to continue his work in the realm of Quantum Quest, he gave us nine slimes as our first wave of monsters.  Below, you’ll see each of them!

So, we start off with a little green guy.  These things are hungry to merge, so they have a tiny little mouth, and almost look to have the face to go with it.

If you merge two small green slimes together, you’ll produce their natural upgrade, a medium green slime.  This one starts to show off some extra sludge appendages, a bigger mouth, and some cool little spots.

Once you merge two of the medium green slimes together, you end up with this big guy, who looks even more horrifying.  He’s taller and ready to grow.  Only with this large green slime, when you merge them, you don’t stay green…

Enter the small yellow goo.  Alchemy reactions mean that the slimes don’t remain in one form throughout their upgrade cycle.  This little guy is the start of something new, and he barely even has a face to speak of.

Of course, adding two of them together opens up their eyes a little bit.  They almost look frightened in this form, but that’s potentially just because they don’t have the size benefits that those big green ones had.

That of course changes when you get to the biggest yellow goo variety.  Not so frightened anymore, they’re ready to cause some damage.  Fun fact: we went back and forth about whether to call this set a yellow mustard.

Doesn’t this red blob kind of look like those candy dots you used to eat when you were a kid?  It makes me hungry just looking at it.

That sort of changes when it starts looking back at you though.  The medium red blob doesn’t want anything to do with your shenanigans.

And the large red blob wants you kids off his lawn!  Seriously, I’d rather not have to see this guy in my nightmares.

Here’s a good look at our first nine slimes all one one board.  You could get all nine of these relatively early on in the game, but can you imagine the work it takes to get to all 27 slimes?  Especially when it takes 10 seconds per monster crate?  It’ll be worth it though, I’m sure you’ll agree.  Our monsters are adorable and fun!

We’ll be back in a few weeks for round two of the slime chamber.  We have a lot more to show in our second set, including Sergei’s sketches for the monsters.  Should be a lot of fun!
