Howdy folks!  We are on a roll here at Tellest, and it’s great to say that we’ve got old friends who are doing just as well!  It’s always nice to revisit someone’s world, and even better when they have a new book out!

We promoted Jeff Kish’s Diamond Bonds a ways back, but he’s back to show off his talents with the sequel, Sapphire Ambition. Everything that made the first book entertaining is cranked up a notch here, and the stakes are ever higher.  The world he’s built continues to grow, and new characters are introduced while the established ones get a chance to shine even brighter.

Following the failed barracks raid that cost him his arm, Era once more finds himself running from the military who imprisoned and enslaved the friend he swore to protect. Though intent on saving Di, he knows he can do nothing to save her until he unravels the mystery behind her bondage and the truth of his own identity, especially as his falsified memories and steadily-growing earth shaping capabilities only serve to instill doubt that the creeds Era once held dear are truly part of who he is.

I am so happy to get another book in the Runics Series.  I was always a firm believer that Diamond Bonds should have been picked up by Kindle Scout, and it was a crime that it was overlooked.  In the meantime though, Kish took everything in stride, and delivered his book to everyone, and put together a substantial sequel.  It is everything you like to see in a follow-up, and it’s sure to leave you eager for the third book!  Check out Sapphire Ambition on Amazon today!

We have some great news for you to coincide with Sapphire Ambition‘s release.  For the next three days, Diamond Bonds is free on Amazon.  There’s never a better time to get started with this series than right now!

Tellest is kind of in their second phase with the impending release of nine new books, and since we wrapped up our Kickstarter, we’re starting to see some really cool things from people we’ve worked before.  A few weeks ago, we saw that one of our previous author allies was expanding to essentially a radio play, and more recently, another friend of ours came back in a big way with a fiery new cover and refined writing.  We’re so very excited for everyone we’ve had the privilege of working with before!

Jeff Kish is another fantastic author we’ve worked with, but his story is a little different.  Jeff swung for the fences with his book, Diamond Bonds, when he submitted it to the Kindle Scout program.  As many ardent readers undoubtedly know, the luck required to get picked for the Kindle Scout platform is uncanny.  You’d have better chances of winning the lottery—and that’s when you’re not a debut author.

Kish had his work cut out for him, and he delivered an amazing pitch, but it was not meant to be.  Since then, his novel has been refined and opened up to everyone.  Well-reviewed and gorgeously written, we all benefit from Kindle Scout’s loss!

A kidnapped girl. Nations in conflict. Legends of an ancient kingdom. And one amateur thief finds himself at the center of it all.

Era cares only of surpassing his father’s infamy as a master thief – until he stumbles onto a kidnapped girl and promises to return her home. Dreaming of a quick and easy reward, Era and his thieving partner Jem set off to return the girl to her wealthy father. However, when bounty hunters and elemental mercenaries attack to recapture the girl, her claims of ignorance begin to ring hollow. When the girl’s own elemental talents are revealed, Era begins to question what else she may be hiding.

As Era fights off foe after foe with his untrained earth shaping skills, the temptation to simply collect the reward on her head sparks an inner conflict between his moral foundation and the future he has always wanted.

In this first book of the Runics series, Jeff Kish delivers fun characters, escalating stakes, and even a hint of romance as this exhilarating novel introduces readers to the unique and marvelous continent of Castuni. Diamond Bonds, a 4.5* rated YA Fantasy novel, is FREE for a limited time!

We’re happy to see that Kish is still pushing this book, and developing it into a series.  Though Diamond Bonds didn’t get through the Kindle Scout program, we’re all still winners, since Kish followed his passion, and released this book for us.  Best of all?  It’s free through tomorrow!  Be sure to check out Diamond Bonds on Amazon today.  You won’t be disappointed!

I’m always interested in the new ways that things are being done, and in the case of Amazon, there’s almost always something that they are trying.  One of their side projects, Kindle Scout, is a pretty cool way to get your book out to people.  I’ve heard of the program before, but never ventured to try it because I’m comfortable with the current model for Tellest.

The program is actually really cool.  Basically, you have the power to control what books Amazon publishes.  You have three nominations at a time that you can give to various novels that have not yet been published.  If within a specific 30 day period a book that you’ve nominated is chosen to be a part of the program, you’ll get that book for free when Amazon publishes it.  As for the author, they get the backing of one of the biggest companies in the world, a nice advance, and a new audience.

I’ve just started using the program as a reader, and my first nomination went to Jeff Kish, for his story, Diamond Bonds.  It’s got wonderfully written characters, a cool setting, and the right kind of magic to pique my interest.  Best of all, with the Kindle Scout program, a preview is right on the page for you.

An uneasy peace between warring nations. Rumors of ancient technology from a civilization long lost. Mercenaries skilled with elemental abilities. A kidnapped girl, and the plucky thief who finds her. With an emphasis on characters, dialogue, and epic duels, the world of Runics offers a lighthearted story that quickly gives way to more sinister developments. Its fast-paced, action-packed story will engage you from cover to cover.

Era cares only of surpassing his father’s infamy as a master thief – until he stumbles onto a kidnapped girl and promises to return her home. However, when bounty hunters and elemental mercenaries attack to recapture the girl, her claims of ignorance begin to ring hollow. As Era fights off foe after foe with his untrained earth shaping skills, the temptation to simply collect the reward on her head sparks an inner conflict between his moral foundation and the future he has always wanted.

The Kindle Scout program is a very cool way to get new authors on their way, and Jeff Kish is as worthy as any other who is currently up for nominations.  Today is the final day that Diamond Bonds is able to receive nominations, so make sure you nominate it today!
