Just to the east of one of our central hubs, Atalatha, you’ll find the Spirit Woods.  It’s one of the largest forests in Draconis, and because of that, it comes with its share of guardians.  The Shadowsect Rangers are those guardians, and as there population has grown, they’ve permitted their members to venture outside of their familiar places.  Still, you’ll find elements of the forest on their person, which is what you’ll see in today’s post.  We’ll start with the sketch below.  In the original concept, Sergei gave our fellow an almost Mongolian feel.  Generally speaking, that’s not too far off from what we were aiming for.  The Shadowsect Rangers are one with the land, but a little more western in appearance.  We aimed for indigenous America, and Sergei helped us get on track in the next iteration.

With a little bit of shading, we were able to see our first real details come to life.  Our ranger has the look of someone who can easily survive in the wilderness, with some almost elven traits being apparent here.  He looks the quintessential role of a TTRPG ranger, so I’d say that Sergei did a great job at bringing our idea to life.  But he was just getting started.

With a little bit of extra color, we had an almost complete picture of the man.  Now, we had our ranger looking a little washed out, so I wanted to give him a slightly warmer skin tone.  Sergei didn’t keep us waiting long to leave him looking a bit cozier.

And here you have it!  This is our final look at the Shadowsect Ranger, ready for a big moment in his life as he leaves the forest to join something that’s a little unfamiliar, but truly exciting.  Sergei did a wonderful job of bringing another one of our characters to life, even if this particular one doesn’t have a name yet!
