{"id":4800,"date":"2016-12-23T08:01:30","date_gmt":"2016-12-23T13:01:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tellest.com\/?p=4800"},"modified":"2017-01-18T08:22:38","modified_gmt":"2017-01-18T13:22:38","slug":"deangelo-holiday-bookmark-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tellest.com\/deangelo-holiday-bookmark-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"DeAngelo Holiday Bookmark 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hey there folks!<\/p>\n<p>Some of you may have already happened upon the Christmas story that I&#8217;m writing this year, and you may have seen the cute bookmark at the bottom of that page. \u00a0This is your opportunity to see how it came to be!<\/p>\n<p>When Rhianna and I got married, we wanted our party favors to be personal, and speak to who we were. \u00a0We met because of Tellest, and it was a combination of our various arts that brought us together. For our party favors, we gave our bookmarks with us and our pets stylized in a really cool way. \u00a0It went over very well, and we talked then about making it an annual thing and making it our Christmas card, essentially.<\/p>\n<p>So this year, we decided to go all out, and put ourselves in a cool winter-themed situation, with our dog pulling us to safety, away from giant, angry penguins. \u00a0Here&#8217;s how the bookmark came to be, from inception to finish:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Holiday-Bookmark.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4802\" src=\"http:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Holiday-Bookmark-300x94.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"94\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Holiday-Bookmark-300x94.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Holiday-Bookmark-1024x319.jpeg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Rhianna started us off with a very rudimentary version of our bookmark. \u00a0Leo always likes when we give him something to work with, so this worked well!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/penguin.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4803\" src=\"http:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/penguin-300x88.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"88\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/penguin-300x88.jpg 300w, https:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/penguin-1024x301.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>From there, Leo did his own sketch, cleaning up \u00a0our mess. \u00a0It did&#8217;t change too much though, and we were happy with what we saw.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/penguin2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4804\" src=\"http:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/penguin2-1024x301.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"117\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/penguin2-1024x301.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/penguin2-300x88.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>From there, we added a splash of color, and personalized the &#8220;characters&#8221; a little further. \u00a0The penguins look even more menacing in this version.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/penguin5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4805\" src=\"http:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/penguin5-1024x301.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"117\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/penguin5-1024x301.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/penguin5-300x88.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is the 97% done version. \u00a0Everything is very expressive, and it just pops so well. \u00a0It&#8217;s a beautiful bit of artwork, if I do say so myself!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/penguin7-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4801\" src=\"http:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/penguin7-1-1024x301.jpg\" width=\"440\" height=\"129\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/penguin7-1-1024x301.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/penguin7-1-300x88.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here you have the final piece. \u00a0There were a few tweaks made to Rhianna and Zelda, but we were left with our final product here. \u00a0I am a huge fan of this tradition, and I hope to keep this up for many, many years!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Happy holidays everyone!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hey there folks!
