{"id":1945,"date":"2015-01-29T00:01:47","date_gmt":"2015-01-29T05:01:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tellest.com\/?p=1945"},"modified":"2015-02-10T05:21:42","modified_gmt":"2015-02-10T10:21:42","slug":"art-remembered-in-gold-cover","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tellest.com\/art-remembered-in-gold-cover\/","title":{"rendered":"Art: Remembered in Gold Cover"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So, by now you&#8217;ve seen the three parts of Remembered in Gold, because you love me, and it would make me sad if you didn&#8217;t read that story. \u00a0You&#8217;ve also probably seen the artwork that we had along with it. \u00a0That allows me to introduce you to our newest artist, Kimirra, from Russia, who did a phenomenal job with our pseudo-Indian culture of Lakmari.<\/p>\n<p>I found Kimirra&#8217;s work on DeviantArt, and I really enjoyed the sepia-toned work that she was known for. \u00a0I thought it worked really well for short stories. \u00a0And to test that theory, we commissioned the &#8220;cover&#8221; for Remembered in Gold.<\/p>\n<p>We started off, as always, with a sketch:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/img883.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1946\" src=\"http:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/img883.jpg\" alt=\"img883\" width=\"440\" height=\"614\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/img883.jpg 645w, https:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/img883-215x300.jpg 215w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I knew that we were going to end up with something spectacular at this point. \u00a0She managed to make both the hero, Kunal, and one of the villains look so full of life and emotion. \u00a0But the finished version was even better than that.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Commission_Kunal_Cascadia-Sized.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1949\" src=\"http:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Commission_Kunal_Cascadia-Sized.png\" alt=\"Commission_Kunal_Cascadia Sized\" width=\"440\" height=\"622\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Commission_Kunal_Cascadia-Sized.png 1861w, https:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Commission_Kunal_Cascadia-Sized-212x300.png 212w, https:\/\/tellest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Commission_Kunal_Cascadia-Sized-724x1024.png 724w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You can&#8217;t really account for the awesome choice in clothing or style in the lineart, but Kimirra did a phenomenal job with the finished piece here. \u00a0She takes direction really well, and gave us our own ill-fated Prince of Persia-esque character. \u00a0Poor guy. \u00a0Although&#8230;
