Greetings travelers!  Care to see what the future might hold?  Xanadar’s Bowl of Scrying allows talented seers to see all kinds of things in its rippling waters, from visions of the past, portents of what is to come, and even other places in the world.  What you’ll see here in the first image that Steven crafted for us below is a more simplistic concept that shows the scrying bowl with a dingy dungeon in its surface.  But as you may well know, Steven always delivers excellent content our way!

In our first WIP iteration, a great deal more polish has been added to the outer portion of the scrying bowl.  It’s got a more ornate design, and more reflective surfaces and shading to speak of.  The ripples in the water are a little more tumultuous and you can quite tell just what’s inside anymore, but that’s by design.  We didn’t want people to be able to see too much detail because scrying is suppose to be a manner of divining, and the results shouldn’t be too clear.

With a bit more polish and radiant coloring within the water itself, things become even more obfuscated.  Does it look a little foresty?  Or is that a room filled with riches?  That’s up to the person perceiving the waters in the scrying bowl.  Regardless, Steven continued marching this art piece along, making it look even spiffier than ever!

Our final look at the bowl, atop a nicely contrasting background, gives us our best look yet at the new treasure.  This is a wonderful addition to any diviners collection, and we’re so happy that we were able to get Steven on board to get us yet another excellent relic from the world of Tellest!

That wraps us up for today, but we’ve still got plenty more goodies coming in the weeks to come, from character art to treasures and more, so be sure to come back every week!

Now I know what you’re thinking.  This looks nothing like a whistle!  Well neither did the so-called whistle from The Legend of Zelda, which is what we were gently ribbing here with this treasure from the world of Tellest!  Greetings, travelers, and welcome to another one of these artifact posts.  Today we’re looking at a magical instrument that performs similarly to the pre-Ocarina of old, in that it helps its user travel across great distances.

Steven Bellshaw once again became our artist for this wonderful project, and right from the get-go, he took this pan flute and helped to bring it to life.

Though the first image definitely helps to sell some level of distinction, it’s the follow-ups that always show the polish, so we’ll take a deeper dive as we go.  We began to see shapes and colors that helped to sell the idea in a more distinguished manner.  But one of the things that we decided to move away from was the “peace and love” sort of message that we felt from the doves.

A touch of gold and a brush of metal adds a richer feel to Fitz’s Whistle.  While your first thought might take you to visions of satyrs playing this musical instrument, it can in fact be played by anyone, regardless of their musical acumen.  While they are probably excited about the idea of playing flawlessly considering they didn’t previously have the talents to pull off such a melody, it won’t be long before they pay attention to the otherworldly wind whisking them off to a new place instead!

Here in our final look at the treasure, you can see the final layers of polish that Steven added to Fitz’s Whistle.  The gorgeous wood and metalwork pops off the screen, really looking at times like you could just reach out and grab it.  This treasure will be making its way to both Quantum Quest and TowerSphere in various ways, so be on the look out for that when we’re ready to show it off.

That wraps us up for the day, but we still have plenty more from Steven to come.  If you’re looking for treasures from the world of Tellest, we’ve got you covered for sure!

Greetings, travelers, and welcome to another art post from the world of Tellest.  Today, let us be there to help light your way.  We’re going to be talking about a very special way to light up the world, with a magical artifact called the Terraform Lantern.

The Terraform Lantern may look, at first, like nothing out of the ordinary.  Perhaps the most exceptional thing about it is that it looks as though it has stained glass instead of the normal glass you might see in a lantern.  After all, what good is a lantern if the light can’t pierce through it properly?

That’s a rather important thing to notice, as well, because its an integral part of how the lantern works.  You see, the Terraform Lantern doesn’t just shine light.  It actually has the ability to use that light to change the very landscape that the wielder is shining it on.  An ocean could have a tremendous mountain pierce through its waves.  A desert could have its barren fields of sand turn into lush plains.  A wasteland could give way to a vibrant, verdant forest.

As always, whenever we have Steven Bellshaw working on one of our art projects, there are always a tremendous amount of ways that he adds polish and shine to an art piece.  In this case, you can see the light within the lantern shine through various parts of the stained glass.  The lantern definitely looks a bit different than you might normally expect, but Steven brought it to life in some very cool ways.

We experimented a little bit with some artificially generated backgrounds.  It wouldn’t be something that we would play with all the time, but sometimes we like to have a little bit of fun, so we put the Terraform Lantern on a pedestal, just waiting for an intrepid adventurer to find it.

This wraps us up for today, but we have plenty more coming from Steven Bellshaw in the future, and plenty more artifacts to show off, so keep your eyes peeled!

Howdy folks!  While you’re going to have to wait a little longer for our Halloween tale this year (vacation made me a little delayed), I don’t want to leave you empty-handed.  We worked with Steven Bellshaw to design three new ligomorphs that are in the holiday spirit…

These ligomorphs absolutely understand the assignment, even if they can’t quite get the look right.  If you zoom in on the text, you’ll see we have three critters this time, portraying Drac, Werewolf, and Frankie!

A little bit of color helps you see the shift in poses.  The werewolf stayed pretty even, and the Frankenstein ligomorph remained close to his original appearance, but the Dracula one changed in pose in the best of ways.  You can also see how we envisioned the color scheme of these little critters, too!

Even then, you can barely be prepared for the strides that Steven makes.  I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, even when Steven puts work into the concepts he makes, you’ll always be blown away by the final product.

Case in point: here are your Halloween 2023 ligomorphs in all their glory!  We’re very happy with how these turned out, and we think that this is going to be the beginning of a wonderful new Tellest tradition.  I hope that you enjoyed them, and that you have a safe, fun, happy Halloween!
