Greetings, travelers!  We’re starting the week off with a bang, and jumping into the Otherworld by way of an interesting LitRPG that has more than a few narrative threads that stitch it into more traditional contemporary fantasy.  If you like the idea of these two subgenres blending together more closely than ever, read on to learn more about Third Path of Creation Book 1 – Traveler’s Journey: An Omniverse Series.

Author ItalianDragon marks an impressive debut with Third Path of Creation Book 1 – Traveler’s Journey: An Omniverse Series., a LitRPG that shows the care and passion that is crafted into this promising shared universe.  From a character whose growth is exponential and exciting, to the minutiae of the stat blocks and the abilities that they have, ItalianDragon was intent on delivering an entertaining and focused experience for their readers.  Because the Omniverse that is being developed is such a foundational part of what the author is building, they spent just the right amount of time on worldbuilding, demonstrating that there is considerable lore and backstory at play.  Meanwhile, the narrative is almost conversational, as James explains the part he has to play in the cosmic tapestry.

Do you love dragons? How about LitRPG books? Do you like isekai? How about an OP MC who uses a combination of book smarts and life experience to solve problems? How about powerful allies and supporting characters who build each other up instead of acting like frenemies? How about random nerd humor and cultural references? If so then join me on a journey into a new series, one that is part of an Omniverse that will begin to unfold.

Join James on his journey as he decides to go looking for his friend who vanished for an unknown reason during one of their guild’s raid nights. In his search, he is ripped mind, body, and soul from Earth and brought to a place that is the Nexus of all thoughts and realities. Oddly enough this place is based on Role Playing Game (RPG) mechanics. In the process of being brought to this nexus, he must survive traveling through the Sea of Chaos, that which is between all realities. Those that survive gain new or hidden abilities that help them survive or thrive on the other side. Taking on his gamer moniker, Deathwalker, he must adapt quickly to this alien fantasy world and hopefully one day find his lost friend. Can Deathwalker find a way to thrive in this new life as he takes his first steps along the Traveler’s Journey?

LitRPGs are supposed to feel a bit like wish fulfillment, and in that regard, Traveler’s Journey does nothing to disappoint.  James, now Deathwalker after his immersion into this new world, is clever, funny, and powerful—all the things that people long to be.  And the book will appeal to those who enjoy the fantasy elements as much as the gaming experience.  It reads quick, with a flow that helps readers race to the finish line.  With a whole shared universe that seems poised to follow, now is a fantastic time to see what ItalianDragon has to offer.  Check out Third Path of Creation Book 1 – Traveler’s Journey: An Omniverse Series on Amazon today!  An audiobook for the story also just released.

Greetings, travelers.  We have spent a considerable amount of time in the worlds that Aaron Renfroe builds, thanks to how quickly he wraps up his stories, and how immersive they are when they’re presented to his throngs of fans.  Today, we’ve arrived at a monumental point in his timeline for his most popular series, The Resonance Cycle.  Read on to learn more about the penultimate release, Knight Unleashed.

With the release of Knight Unleashed: The Resonance Cycle, Book 6, author Aaron Renfroe is delivering for readers and fans in some very big ways.  LitRPGs can sometimes seem like a tough nut to crack as far as sweeping series go.  But Renfroe seems like he never misses a step, always knowing exactly what route he needs to take to elevate his storytelling, and to send his characters are quests and adventures that remain remarkable despite their growing power schemes.  Renfroe is as clever as his craftiest characters, and always builds toward exciting crescendos with each of these books.  With Knight Unleashed bringing up the second to last story in this epic series, it had a considerable weight on its shoulders.  But none would be wise to doubt Renfroe, who stuns with this second-to-last chapter.

Be unleashed, my Knight. They were warned before against crossing us and did not heed it. Teach them to fear you.

The Resonance is underway, and Ty has been captured.

After his incredible experiences at the Tournament of Scions, Ty is back on Earth. Surrounded by a literal army of enemy scions and monsters, the fate of all he’s built hangs in the balance.

The time has come for the Knight of the Wild to anneal his various and strange powers into something greater than the sum of their parts. If he cannot, it will mean the end of not one universe but three.

Dear Readers, the Resonance is well underway. In Knight Unleashed, our hero will face dragons, newborn gods, and much more. Hold onto your seats – you’re in for a wild ride.

As tensions rise higher than ever, the Resonance Cycle books prove that even those with supernatural abilities can be wounded.  If someone can bleed, they can be bled dry.  Despite all of Ty’s strengths, he isn’t invincible, and the author knows how to keep readers and fans guessing about what might come next.  And those threats are laid bare, promising what is to come next in this spectacular LitRPG series.  With the penultimate book in the series now done, there’s never been a better time to dive into Renfroe’s incredible LitRPG series.  Do yourself a favor and check out the first five books of the series.  Then, check out Knight Unleashed: The Resonance Cycle, Book 6 on Amazon today!

Greetings, travelers, and welcome to our last stop in the Otherworld of the week.  We’ve spent considerable time with author Aaron Renfroe over the past several months, and that doesn’t look like it will be slowing down anytime soon.  The prolific storyteller has a new series in the works, and the first book has just released.  Filled with action movie vibes, anime-evoked aesthetics, and Renfroe’s penchant for interesting characters and captivating stories, this could be a spectacle you won’t want to miss.  Read on to learn more about Assassin Summoner: Spite the Dark: Book 1 (LitRPG/Progression).

LitRPG author Aaron Renfroe has an immense catalog that he builds quickly, and he’s grown it one book and series larger with the release of his newest, Assassin Summoner: Spite the Dark: Book 1 (LitRPG/Progression).  Those who have grown accustomed to the author’s stories will at once be drawn to his characters, as he writes them with great depth, and with dynamic development in mind.  But Spite the Dark also sets itself aside from Renfroe’s other stories as it instantly identifies itself as a high-octane experience.  Action sequences are fueled by quick and exciting choreography, and there is a freneticism that has readers eager to turn one page after the next.

Kaden knows the fate of the world, and he’s determined to stop it.

The Hunt has descended upon Earth, bestowing deadly powers upon orginary individuals and igniting a contest that will end in the destruction of all life on the planet. In this treacherous game, players must vanquish their adversaries to claim their power. With each triumph, Hunters unearth unprecedented abilities that evolve in strange, unexpected ways.

Armed with a roadmap showing the whereabouts of the most gifted villains, Kaden will race against time to thwart his rivals’ ascent to unimaginable power, all while waging a relentless battle against the impending apocalypse. However, when he uncovers the truth about an otherworldly realm known as the Madness, and the malevolent purpose behind the Hunt, he must decide: will he continue as a weapon of tyrants, or will he Spite the Dark?

Spite the Dark combines elements of 80s and 90s action films with the awe-inspiring violence and beauty of anime. It’s got a hint of Recursion, a dash of Apocalypse and a ton of awesome. Please be aware that this story contains graphic violence.

Always one to find clever ways to layer progression elements into his story, the author has nailed down some very interesting parameters here in Spite the Dark.  He creates an interesting super soldier out of Kaden Yamaguchi, and invited readers to watch as a grand and epic tale unfolds.  Renfroe is a master of the LitRPG domain, and a prolific author who is always working on one stunning story after the next.  With a follow-up in this series set to launch in March, now is the right time to explore his latest progression fantasy.  Check out Assassin Summoner: Spite the Dark: Book 1 (LitRPG/Progression) on Amazon today!

Greetings travelers, and welcome to another spectacular week in the Otherworld.  We’re going to be looking at the work of a very talented storyteller who we’ve worked with before, as he’s about to release the fifth book in a very popular LitRPG saga.  Read on to learn more about Aaron Renfroe’s Torn Shroud, the fifth book in the Resonance Cycle.

With over 2500 reviews, and an average that has reached 4.7 out of 5 stars in recent books, the Resonance Cycle has become known as one of the go-to LitRPG series for superfans.  And so, in Aaron Renfroe’s latest in the series, Torn Shroud, the author continues to refine his craft, and develops his characters into an even more catching and captivating cast.  Though the Resonance Cycle can be complex, Renfroe delivers everything with a stunning amount of passion, and works wonders at making everything stand out.  It’s insanity in only the best of its presentation, and the author wants nothing more than to take you on a ride you’ll not soon forget.

The Tournament of Scions has begun.

The time has come for Ty to attend the tournament of the Constellation Hierarchy. With all-new abilities, plus help from King Vudon’s own daughter, he will face the most elite scions on any world. His only hope of victory will be to rely on every trick and strange ability he’s obtained.

Under the veil of the tournament, the Monster god’s allies prepare for their most ambitious plan yet: to steal King Vudon’s throne. In a place between realities, where anything is possible, Ty won’t be content to let evil corrupt the Hierarchy.

But what can one Knight do to stop it?

Torn Shroud continues the second trilogy of the best-selling Resonance Cycle.

LitRPGs can feel like something that are easy to create, as there is usually a sort of template that they follow.  But it takes a master to truly elevate them, and Renfroe is one such aficionado.  As this is the fifth book in this series, it’s been ramped up a considerable amount, but it never feels out of place or unearned.  Instead, Renfroe finds careful balance with a few different storylines, blending everything together in the most delectable ways.  With this penultimate book in the cycle upon us, there’s never been a better time to dive into all the Resonance Cycle books.  Then, do be sure to come back here and check out Torn Shroud: The Resonance Cycle, Book 5 on Amazon today!

Greetings, travelers, and welcome to a wonderful new stop in the Otherworld!  Today, we’re going to be looking at a world beneath our own—one steeped in background detail and lore that will have LitRPG fans eagerly turning the page again and again as they learn about the world of Lorith, and the cataclysmic events that threaten it.  If that sounds interesting to you, read on to discover more about Father of Constructs: The Janitor Killed the World Boss.

Aaron Renfroe is no stranger to fantasy or to LitRPG.  That experience is used to great effect in his second LitRPG series starter, Father of Constructs: The Janitor Killed the World Boss.  Renfroe takes his talents and crafts a story with beautiful prose that feels as though it was meticulously chosen, and a story that is equal parts hilarious and heartwarming.  It’s a bit of Flowers for Algernon-meets-World of Warcraft, in the best of ways.  There is a tremendous amount of forethought that went into crafting this world, and it does not exist merely as a place for a player to exert their newfound power.  Rather, it feels as though this fantasy world existed well before any programmer put RPG elements within it.  It could have just as easily been a proper fantasy, but the LitRPG elements elevate it in some interesting ways.  Indeed, Renfroe strikes an interesting and powerful balance between all the fundamental parts of his story.

Lorith’s magic is fading. Centuries ago, heroic adventurers stopped the World Boss’ cycle of rebirth by reducing the creature to one hit point and sealing it away so no one would ever find it. But, by ending one calamity, they halted the natural flow of magic within the world and brought about the Havoc Plague.

With all civilization now on the brink of collapse, humanity’s only hope is to find and kill the World Boss in order to restart the monster’s rebirth cycle and bring back magic. When the Plagued janitor Harvey stumbles into a mysterious wreckage and accidentally kills the missing World Boss, he gains a million experience points, making him the target of almost all the would-be adventurers of the world. Burdened with ancient knowledge, and hunted by countless rivals, he must join with unlikely allies to do the unthinkable: find the reincarnated World Boss and defeat it again, before it can ravage the world anew.

Renfroe’s sophomore LitRPG series begins with a masterpiece that promises more from the world.  This first book in the set is an incredible look into a world rife with mythology, captivating characters, and a fresh take on what the genre is and where it can go.  The author is also a master at pacing the tale, ensuring that what is on the page is what is on the page is something that will entertain the reader, and not have them feeling bogged down with unnecessary exposition or skippable details.  It’s because of that pacing that fans will find themselves turning the final page before long.  But they need not fret for long, because Renfroe has the second book in the series ready to land later this year.  Check out Father of Constructs: The Janitor Killed the World Boss on Amazon today!

Greetings Otherworld travelers, and welcome to our next stop in our journey.  Today we’re going to be looking at a LitRPG that is beginning to pick up pace and entice a lot of new fans of the genre.  Read on to learn more about Kronos Online.

If you’ve ever dreamed about escaping the troubles of your day to day life and becoming the great hero, author Mitchell Nelson has a story that might have been written just for you.  His fantasy debut is Kronos Online, a LitRPG that’s a breath of fresh air for the genre.  It presents with a bigger focus on what’s going on in the real world, giving the tale a heartier feel.  It’s a timely book, with trends pushing people’s interactions online.  Nelson isn’t afraid to show some of the cracks that exist in the foundation between his worlds, or his characters.

A new game to play.

A new world to explore.

Possibilities for disaster are endless.

Kronos Online – The long awaited fully immersive MMORPG game that has everything from near sentient Artificial intelligence to centuries of world history. Join Theo as he chooses the life of a professional player in Kronos, opting to drop out of college instead.

Though as anyone would suspect it is never so easy, Theo faces backlash from family, economic hardship and the difficulty of balancing the in-game life as well as reality.

This action meets drama set in both modern times and a virtual reality medieval fantasy will take you on a journey full of action, romance and revenge through the eyes of someone who refuses to give up no matter the odds.

Through sheer determination and hard work Theo attempts to make a name for himself in Kronos, one that even his stubborn family will have to acknowledge, and that name is – Conquest.

Each chapter ends in a way that draws you in more and more.  Nelson has fashioned a story that is addicting and immersive, whether it is what’s happening to Theo in game or outside of it.  It’s a perfect story for those who want to dream big, and see their passions turn into epic successes, although it certainly shows the struggles that one must endure as well.  Though Nelson’s book has a fantasy heartbeat, it takes care to present reality in a compelling way as well, giving this LitRPG a breath of fresh air you might not otherwise find.  With more stories from this series undoubtedly on the way, now’s a great time to pick up the debut.  Check out Kronos Online on Amazon today!  If you pick it up this weekend, between May 6th and May 9th, you’ll get it absolutely free!

Howdy Otherworld travelers.  Well, it’s been a jam-packed week.  We’ve been meeting new friends, and hanging out with those tried-and-true.  Today, at the end of the week, it’s no exception.  We’ve got a spectacular LitRPG from a magnificent author, which will be perfect to take you into the weekend.  Read on to learn more about Shields of Strathmar.

Author Marc Mulero knows how to set a stage.  His new LitRPG, Shields of Strathmar: A LitRPG Adventure (The World Over Book 1), starts off with a bang, and has the kind of momentum that can keep readers invested throughout.  And Mulero is crafty enough to make some changes to the typical LitRPG formula that leave it feeling fresh and exciting.  Imagine a fantasy world where the NPC’s know more about where you come from than you do!  And throughout all the revelations and twists and turns, Mulero pulls his audience in, ensuring that they feel like they’re a part of the action, and the unfolding secrets.

Aegis woke up with the powers of a god. But what good is that if the one person he cares for is stuck in another world?

Starting his journey with no memory, Aegis stumbles through the land of Strathmar with only the bare bone tools that his sponsor threw at him to begin his quest. He must piece together his past while facing nefarious beasts and dungeons to survive his present, knowing that if he dies, he will eventually respawn and have to do it all over again. Thankfully, his new foul-mouthed, know-it-all friends make him laugh as he’s getting pummeled along the way.

But when Aegis learns that his brother Roy is sick, left helpless in the world that he left behind, he must do all he can to save him.

Will he find a way to connect with his family and bridge two worlds? Or will he fail, doomed to a fate worse than death?

Those who already know and enjoy Mulero’s fantasy fare are in for a treat with his latest, even with a genre shift.  If it’s got Mulero’s name on it, it’s going to be great.  In the case of Shields of Strathmar, he finds a clever balance, tilting the LitRPG conventions just far enough without toppling everything over, and it leaves it as one of the more entertaining releases in the genre of late.  It’s funny, all the characters are interesting, and it’s refreshing enough to captivate you the more you dive into it.  And that’s great, because it’s got so much more room for expansion, which Mulero would certainly deliver.   Check out Shields of Strathmar: A LitRPG Adventure (The World Over Book 1) on Amazon today!

Greetings travelers, and welcome to the first Otherworld stop we have prepared for this week.  We’ve been spending a lot of time with science fiction over the last week or so, but today we’re stepping through to another world, and will be able to enjoy our first portal fantasy in a while, and it just so happens to be a LitRPG as well.  Read on to learn more about The False Hero.

Michael Plymel’s debut LitRPG is a doozy, with an interesting balance between a traditional portal fantasy and an LitRPG.  The False Hero, Volume 1, takes the best parts of both genres, and blends them together efficiently.  The characters are varied enough from what you’d typically see in either type of fantasies, and it has you eager to learn more about what paths they’ll ultimately go down.  Plymel isn’t afraid to go down some darker avenues, and he toes the line with a character who feels like an interesting anti-hero, with some not-so-heroic tendencies as well.  And illustrations by several artists make the plot pop even more.

Disillusioned businessman, John Lawrence Locke, finds himself summoned as a hero to another world, filled with monsters and magic! With his body reverted to the age of fifteen, the thirty-three-year-old’s mind is filled with the possibility of battles and adventures, like the ones in his favorite video games.

Unfortunately for him, life isn’t always so convenient. Betrayed by the very people who summoned him, he’s condemned as the False Hero and forced to flee for his life. Alone in an unfamiliar world and hunted by all of humanity, he takes on the alias of Lutz and uses his gaming knowledge to quickly adapt to the world’s strangely game-like mechanics.

Plymel’s book rips forward at a roaring pace that will have readers furiously turning the page.  Before you know it, you’ll be in the final chapters—looking at bonus content the author has so graciously included—itching for more.  If you’re into fantasies with a darker edge, or watching characters grow to incredible strength in LitRPGs, Plymel’s debut will have you eager to go, and excited for an eventual sequel.  Check out The False Hero, Volume 1 on Amazon today!

Hey there folks!  We’re officially halfway through the year now, and we’re getting into those hot months where you want nothing more than to hang out inside and thumb through the pages of your next favorite book.  Well, if you’re a fan of LitRPG stories, I’ve got that favorite waiting for you!

New Lands Online Book 1: Encounters is a gripping story that has you follow along with Kano as his world is upended and stitched back together, seemingly no worse for wear at first.  Author A.O. Storm begins to draw back the curtain though, and you realize that not all is as it seems, and the world expands beyond belief.  Storm does a great job of developing characters you enjoy reading about, and he makes you interested in New Lands Online, and seeing where Kano will go.

Drive to the snow resort. Teach snowboarding. Rinse and repeat.

Kano was enjoying life, though broke, as a snowboarding instructor in Lake Tahoe until an accident happened. Due to a hospital mix up, his life takes a novel turn and he ends up inside New Lands Online, as its first ever digital human.

He never signed up to be the main character in an ultra realistic virtual reality game, where bodily functions are as real as can be, and has to learn new skills to survive.

Will Kano level up inside New Lands Online, or will the game world get the best of him for the 978th time? Find out in book one: Encounters and experience the epic adventure!

With four other books on the horizon, book one sets up a lot of the pieces in a fun, engrossing way.  Storm is witty and playful with dialog and scenes, and you can tell that he enjoyed the RPG elements of the story.  Analytical enough to make sense of the stats and the world logic, yet entertaining in his world-building, Storm makes this first jaunt into New Lands Online a thoroughly entertaining one.  Check out New Lands Online Book 1: Encounters on Amazon today!
