Greetings to our comic book reader visitors to the Otherworld.  We’ve got an interesting project to tell you about today, and it’s one that could use your help if you’re into superhero fantasies and a good time.  Read on to learn more about The Adventures of Ganja Girl.

Charles Ahonotu is a storyteller and comic book aficionado who has tapped into his social group and his hobbies to bring a new tale to life.  This quirky, humorous, good-natured story is The Adventures of Ganja Girl, a story of ordinary people finding great power within themselves, even if it’s with the help of an external substance.  Ahonotu’s advantages stem from his entertaining relationships with his friends, as well as an aim toward making the story enjoyable by anyone.

Chelsy K Cray is a stoner slash slacker with no responsibility or accountability who smokes a strand of weed that gives her power beyond her belief. She begins to struggle with using her power for good, or trying to live a normal life. She works at a weed dispensary.

Her sidekick Ally is a self-proclaimed nerd and weed smoker. She helps Chelsy figure out her powers, builds her suit and develops different weapons for her to use.

Oda Tamassa is a mysterious character who teaches Chelsy Tai Chi, weapons combat and how to control her spirit and physical body separation.

Dr. Nick Tannen is an evil genius doctor kicked out of med school and trying to take over the world. He is a racist and sexist character who is out to destroy and kill mankind.

The Adventures of Ganja Girl is crowdfunding on IndieGoGo at this time, and is trending in the right direction.  If you like your stories to be fun and quirky, and you like to see people fight for progress and the good of humanity, all while kicking butt, this is a comic that could be right up your alley.  The artist is enjoying this story, and he’s made it clear that he wants to continue the character’s escapades, but you can get it at the onset if you help this comic reach its crowdfunding goal.  Check out The Adventures of Ganja Girl on IndieGoGo today!

Hello everyone.  It’s Monday, and that means comics.  The only problem is, at the moment, we’re actually out of completed pages! I’ve got most of Inner Demons written, but it’s been taking a little longer to get them storyboarded and inked than we originally thought.

One of the reasons for that is that Leo was practicing his hand at these comics before I came on board.  He was working on a very plot-thin premise just to see if he could pull off the style (and we can see that he could).  Along the way, he realized that he had a lot of fans of that “story” and he asked me if I wanted to craft something around it.

So, now we have two comic book stories, including Demon Hunter:

Demon Hunter Cover

I’ve written a synopsis for this story, as well as the opening points of the tale.

One of the other reasons that we’ve had to step away this week is that we’re actively considering shipping this to comic publishers. We’ve got a couple of submissions out, for both this and Inner Demons (what’s with all the demons?).

And of course I can’t let Leo get away with not doing any Tellest-related work, so I’ve got him working his butt off on the new cover for As Darkness Falls – which just in sketch form looks amazing by the way.

Anyway, we’ll be back next week with at least one more page. Cheers!

Page four of our little indie comic is what really sets the stage for Inner Demons.  We see in these panels what the mood is, and how far we’re willing to take our characters.  Our hero, still unnamed at this point, has not been having a good time since we’ve introduced him.

I’d also like to take a moment to praise Leo’s style here.  He did a tremendous job, and I think this is the page that shows it.

We also get to see a little bit of change to the appearance of the comic.  It’s brighter, except for the gutters, which have changed from white to black.  I did this (well, Leo did it, but it was because I told him to, so there!) because that signifies that you’re not in the “real world”. Could this be… a flashback?

Ladies and gentlemen, I proudly present to you the first page of my project with DLeoBlack.  This is essentially the prologue of our story. Neither of these guys is the main character, but it does help to establish our setting.

As I said in my initial Inner Demons post, this part of the story takes place in Le Havre, a nice little port city in France.  This is just before the French Revolution.  And this day is not a pretty one (though Leo did a phenomenally beautiful job).

These comics are going to look a little squat on the Tellest website, but if you click on them, they’ll enlarge appropriately.

Hope you enjoy this little peek at the world we’re developing, and that it leaves you interested for more!
