Thanks for the comments. A new trilogy? A New world? Well, I’m currently doing the research to write what will probably turn into a novelette set on Mars.
As for the fantasy; it struck me the other day, as I was writing a background character piece to go on my blog, that there are more stories to be told in the land I invented for A Seared Sky, so it’s more likely I’d go that route than develop another new world. Because I developed a lot of different societies for that series, it would work for me to focus on some of those areas that I merely touch on in A Seared Sky. Only time will tell! On now, with the final ‘read aloud’ edit of book 3 – halfway through that and then the other two books that make up the whole series will be ready for publication.

Many thanks to you, Linda. And Stuart’s work all around is beyond impressive. I would venture to say that many people could take an easy route and invent the worlds from scratch, but they end up so boiled down by that point, it isn’t worth the time you’d put in to read them. Stuart has put forth a tremendous effort to make his world believable, rich and full of life.

And that’s an excellent question as well. I’d be interested in hearing more there, too. I’ll reach out to Stuart to see if he can comment on that.

It was my pleasure, Stuart. You’ve got a great world here, and I’m hopeful that this will steer a few more fans of the genre in your direction.

Few I’ve read carry such penetrating questions, and it certainly pays off in eliciting the depth of responses. Many think that writing Fantasy is easy because entire worlds are invented, but Stuart shows that it is anything but. The groundwork he put in is phenomenal.

I’m just starting A Seared Sky so it will be good to keep this interview in mind as I read.

Q: As this is a trilogy and therefore has a definite end in sight, considering how much work is involved would Stuart consider creating a new Fantasy trilogy/series in a different world?
