Fantasy Promo – Fariidinus book 3: Battle Queane

Hey there folks, and welcome to the Otherworld.  We’ve been on a crazy L.E.Parr kick lately, and that doesn’t show signs of stopping anytime soon.

Today, our focus is going to be on the third book in her Fariidinus series, Battle Queane.  It effectively wraps up the original trilogy of her lethal fairy books, but it leaves enough room open for the books that followed.  Kirin is much more on the level with highmother Letal here, which comes to a point that you’re sure to enjoy.

The war in the Heartland is in full swing with Letal sending legions of radicalized fariidinus against Kirin and Stone’s undermanned army. It’s a valiant fight with more losses than victories. Kirin, already a converted battle queane, is changing again. She has developed a poisonous venom in her wings that can kill Letal but to deliver the poison, Letal must be in her arms.  As Kirin continues to become stronger as a weapon, her physical body is weakening. The inevitable face to face confrontation with Letal is terrifying Stone and their loyal supporters who question Kirin’s ability to survive such an encounter.  But, everyone knows that there is no other way to defeat Letal.

Battle Queane was a wonderful ending of the first books.  There were real stakes, and it looked like it could have wrapped things up with a little bow, but L.E.Parr is nothing if not incredibly diligent.  She’s set to work on another trilogy, and the fourth and fifth books are already available. Those books follow new protagonists though, and there’s nobody quite like Kirin.  Show the Fariidinus your love.  Be sure to check out Battle Queane on Amazon today!

Fantasy Promo – Fariidinus Book 2: Sisters of the Blood

Hello folks!  We’re back today to take another look at L.E.Parr’s lovely lethal fairy series, Fariidinus.  The second book, Sister of the Blood, raises the stakes in every way, and Parr delivers a wonderful tale that’s full of world-building, character development and tense moments.

Parr is a storytelling force to be reckoned with, so it stands to reason that she knows how to write a fierce, compelling heroine.  Kirin stands up to her enemies in this second book, and lays claim to the Heartland in order to save it.  If you liked the first Fariidinus book, you’ll love this sequel.

Kirin and Stone have returned to the Heartland where she has been given sanctuary by the wyrMaster in the Red Valley. Her unprecedented return from exile has polarized the great Houses and enraged the evil HighMother. A divided Heartland quickly becomes embroiled in a fiery civil war with Stone leading the combined armies with their new ally–the winged telepathic bloodcats. Kirin becomes the deadly weapon she was resurrected from exile to be.

Since we first started working with L.E.Parr, she’s poured her heart and her words into several more books, and this remains one of her best.  If you enjoyed Wings of the Exile, you simply must return to the Heartland to read Sisters of the Blood.  Check it out on Amazon today!

Fariidinus Book 1: Wings of the Exile

We here at Tellest have had a pretty consistent opportunity to work with some amazing people.  Among them, we have L.E.Parr, who is a phenom when it comes to writing.  She’s been launching book after book for the last few months, and isn’t showing any signs of stopping.

Parr’s major series is Fariidinus.  It takes place on and beyond the reaches of contemporary Earth, and revolves around a fairy realm—but these aren’t your prim and proper, delicate little garden loiterers.  No, these fairies will give you a run for your money, since they’re both beautiful and deadly.

In honor of a great fantasy ally, we’d like to highlight the first of the books in that series.  Check out Fariidinus, Book 1: Wings of the Exile:

A heart broken exile will do just about anything to have her wings restored including returning to her homeland to start a war.

Kirin, a young fariidinus fey, is judged and condemned to the knife. After her wings are removed, she is exiled to the mainland where she is rescued by Stone, a young man who is part of a group of Heartland expatriates. The expatriates have long had a plan to restore the wings of a fariidinus with the right gifts in order to send her back into the Heartland as a weapon against the evil Highmother, Letal. Kirin is bitter and angry and not sure she wants to be part of the plan until Letal brings her war to the mainland and there is no other choice but to fight back.

Parr is consistently releasing new content, so you’ll have a lot to read if you put her on your radar.  With that in mind, it’s a great time to check out this first book on Amazon.

Fantasy Promo – Sirenhawk Book 1: Misborn of the Snowy Reaches

Hello again, fantasy fans!  I’m so happy to say that this year has been awesome for us and our collaborators.  We have a handful of the most awesome allies, and they’re continuing to write stories that are beyond enchanting.

About six weeks ago, we had the pleasure of showing off L.E.Parr’s new series, Sirenhawk.  Misborn of the Snowy Reaches is an awesome Shapeshifter tale, but it’s only the first book in a series that Parr has already put a lot of work into.  The sequel is right around the corner.  It’s good to know where to begin, and Misborn of the Snowy Reaches is one heck of a start.  With a wonderful medley of adventure, humor, and sexual tension, this opening tale will get you ready for the other books in the series to follow.

Iceria, Ice, is a hawk-human shapeshiifter. It’s Ice’s job to protect the Northern Corridor from the hereditary enemy of the sirenhawks, the deadly she’ravens. Iceria’s sisters consider her a little odd. She is a literal thinker, she loves shiny baubles and jewelry and her favorite book is an old English dictionary. In human form, Ice and all her kind are sirens of myth and legend. As the battle against the deadly she’ravens escalates, Ice discovers two things about herself. The first, she has a warrior’s heart and the second, she’s capable of falling in love in a very human way.

The Sirenhawk series is certain to delight fans of shapeshifters and urban fantasy.  Parr does an excellent job of bringing these new characters to bear, and instantly has another win on her hands. Don’t forget that the second book in the series, Misborn of the Wildling River, is right around the corner.  There’s no better way to get prepped for it than to bury your nose in the first book in the series.  Check out Sirenhawk Book 1: Misborn of the Snowy Reaches on Amazon today!

Fantasy Promo – Sirenhawk Book 1 : Misborn of the Snowy Reaches

Hello there all you fans of fantasy.  We have been on a roll these past few weeks, bringing you non-stop action across a lot of different sub-genres.  July is a huge month for us, and we’re so excited to have some other fantastic authors along for the ride with us.

L.E.Parr is arguably the most prolific author that we ever have on our site, and it seems she’s not content to just raise the bar.  As it turns out, she wants to send it into orbit.

While you might be familiar with Parr’s Fariidinus series—we’ve shown it off a lot here on Tellest, and we’re always excited for more—there’s a new urban fantasy in town, and it’s already well underway.  The Sirenhawk series does for shapeshifters what Fariidinus did for fairies.  The lead character, Ice, takes shelter from the world of man in a hidden place in Sierra Nevada, but she also can’t ignore the pull of the big city.  Whereas Parr’s fairy series was brutal beyond the veil of the beautiful creatures, Sirenhawk leans more on whimsy.  The author definitely flexes her humor muscles here, to great effect.

Parr has already established herself with one stellar series.  With Sirenhawk, though, the author proves that she can let two storylines breathe and grow independent of each other.  Ice is an adorable new lead, and she is the perfect way to be introduced to the sirenhawks. Best of all, Sirenhawk‘s second book will be out in September!

While I eagerly wait for the follow-up, I submit to you this stellar debut in the series.  Sirenhawk is fun fantasy at its very best, and you’re sure to love it.  Check it out on Amazon to join Ice on her first big adventure!

Fantasy Promo – Fariidinus Book 5: Wings of the Sea

Hey there folks.  We’re happy to be back with a new promo for an old friend today.  It feels like we’ve been gone from the Heartland for way too long, and I for one have need to see some beautiful, lethal fairies again.

L.E.Parr is back once again to show us the work she excels at. Fariidinus Book 5: Wings of the Sea is another bout of worldbuilding at its finest, and this time she brings us to a whole new realm.  The Heartland seas become an intriguing place to visit, thanks to newcomer Melody, who holds sway over that domain.  The story fits in with the previous book as well, as some focus is left on Kirin, who became this second set’s big hero.  It’s Melody who gets to shine here, though, and you’ll quickly fall in love with her.

MELODY, Dee, was the youngest child to fall under Letal’s knife. It was her culling that finally goaded Kirin into the war. Even though her xylin node was left intact, Dee’s wings never recovered and she cannot fly. But, Dee, has an extraordinary gift, never seen before in the species. She can control the sea and communicate with the little mermaids, the merikin. When one of the Houses conspires to destroy Kirin with poison, they experiment on the merikin with great loss of life. In a desperate attempt to save the merikin and the Heartland seas, Dee races against time and miles to lead her friends to safety.

We’ve had the awesome privilege of working with Parr several times before, and her books are always great fun.  The first trilogy was tremendous entertainment, and these newer books are set to keep up to that same pace while also carving out the world she’s built even further.  Melody is an awesome character to add to her already impressive roster.  If you want to read her story, check out Fariidinus Book 5: Wings of the Sea on Amazon today.

Fantasy Promo – Fariidinus Book 4: Glissin

Hello there, fans of fantasy!  It has been a wonderful first quarter of the year, and we’re so happy to send you off into warmer months with another great book, courtesy of the prolific L.E.Parr.  We’ve spent some time over the last few weeks praising her work on her incredible Fariidinus series.  The first trilogy was amazing, and followed Kirin’s battle against the villainous Highmother Letal.

Today, I’m even more excited to show off Parr’s fourth book, Glissin. A glissin is what you get when a farii and a human have a child, and they have some interesting powers that even their full farii parents can’t tap into.  This new book explores further beyond what we’ve read about the Heartland and its inhabitants, and it is world-building at its finest.

At it’s heart, Glissin is a coming of age story set against the backdrop of Parr’s amazing Fariidinus world.  Its hero sets out to learn about herself and her powers, but Parr’s Heartland adds a level of quality that makes it shine throughout.

ARAMIX is the half human-half fariidinus daughter of Ayleen and Ian. She was born to support the Heartland’s chosen queane, but, as her glissin talents have matured so has her temper and sense of injustice. To protect Kirin, Aramix has been raised at the Lighthouse. When the nixla, who can shield Kirin from Aramix’s ability to tap into a queane’s deadly power, fall ill with a virulent plague, Aramix is able to reach through the mist and ignite the fire inside Kirin. Several Houses seize the opportunity to rise against the weakened queane. Stone orders Aramix back to the Heartland and into the custody of Arkana, the glissin PrimeMother.

After a tremendous first trilogy, Parr keeps churning forward.  While book four takes some small steps away from the previous heroes, they still play a part in the overall tapestry of this latest Fariidinus book.  Glissin gives its new protagonist a chance to shine on her own, and in doing so, broadens the scope of this incredible fantasy world. If that sounds awesome to you, why not check out Glissin on Amazon today?

Fantasy Promo – Fariidinus Book 3: Battle Queane

Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to another edition of books from the Otherworld.  We’ve been paying a lot of attention to one author in particular lately, and we’re so excited to feature her on Tellest yet again.  L.E.Parr has been crushing it with her Fariidinus series, and it’s time to give you a new taste of that universe.

Book 3 in Parr’s lethal fairy series is Battle Queane.  It ends an amazing first trilogy, and features the rejuvenated fariidinus Kirin, who must bring all of the force she can against the villainous highmother Letal.

Battle Queane is the perfect end to this trilogy, but don’t fret.  There is another trilogy on the way—in fact, the fourth book, Glissin, is already out.  For now, though, there’s no better time than the present to catch up on the end of Kirin’s incredible journey.  Why not check out Battle Queane on Amazon today?

Fantasy Promo – Fariidinus Book 2: Sisters of the Blood

Earlier this week, we looked at the works of L.E.Parr once again. We’ve seen her debut book in the Fariidinus series, Wings of the Exile, a few times.  Over the next couple of days, though, we’re going to be exploring beyond that first book, and delving into the deeper reaches of her tales.

We’ve looked at Sisters of the Blood before as well, but this book is our feature today.  It follows closely behind the original book, and portrays the fairy Kirin as a worthy adversary to the evil Highmother.  It introduces new allies and explores more of the Heartland.

This is still just the beginning of our talks about the Parr’s books and the Fariidinus series.  If you liked Wings of the Exile, you’ll love returning to the Heartland to read Sisters of the Blood.  Check it out on Amazon today!

Fantasy Promo – Fariidinus Book I: Wings of the Exile

As a self-published writer of fantasy who has been around for a while now, I’ve had the opportunity to interact with some awesome people.  I’ve been able to chat with my personal writing hero, R.A. Salvatore, interview the creators of awesome fantasy games, and of course, work on my series to a level I wouldn’t have dreamed up sixteen years ago.

One of the coolest things that I’ve been able to do, however, is band together with authors just like me.  L.E.Parr has been a consistent ally of ours, and I cannot sing her praises enough.

Parr’s tales exist around a series called Fariidinus (though she’s expanding beyond that soon enough).  Her world takes place on and beyond the reaches of contemporary Earth, and revolves around a fairy realm—but these aren’t your prim and proper, delicate little garden loiterers.  No, these fairies will give you a run for your money, since they’re both beautiful and deadly.

With as much as Parr has written (and continues to write), this book is sure to be thought of very fondly.  It’s the first tale in a series that continues to grow and surprise, and it catches your attention instantly.  The series is about to grow even bigger, with two more books right around the corner.

For now though, it’s a good time to check out this first book on Amazon.  You’ll want to be caught up on the preceding books before the fifth and sixth release!
