Fenrir

History

General

While in Fostervilla, Kaos Kreegan was part of a secretive group called the Syndicate.  They protected the city from evil, although they had some debatable tactics and means.  When Kaos proved to have a meteoric rise, the leader of the Syndicate awarded him with the katana, Fenrir, as a gift.

Attributes

Though no one truly knows where Fenrir came from, it is believed that it was constructed by the gods.  The metal itself is of unknown specification, so those who have seen the blade have taken to calling it infindium.  This is primarily because the blade is lightweight, yet ultimately indestructible.

Wielder

When Kaos Kreegan met Dirk following his stint in Fostervilla, he began equipping the wolf with a harness for Fenrir.  If needed, Dirk could bring the weapon at a moment’s notice, ultimately providing Kaos with a quick surprise attack should it be needed.

Woodchuck

History

General

Woodchuck is the colloquial name given to a magical quiver that is in the possession of the ranger, Steel Tip.  Originally wielded by a group of elves in southern Daltain, it was once known by another name, which translated roughly to The Everforest.  They also called it the much more informal Marksman’s Best Friend.

Attributes

Woodchuck is incredibly beneficial for an archer.  Arrows are always plentiful within it, although no one, not the elves or its current owner, have ever been able to figure out how it produces them.

There have been rumors as to the way it is charmed.  Theories vary from enchanted termites to benevolent gremlins that live in a nether realm and send the arrows through the aether.  Whatever the case, its wielder will never run out of ammunition.

Early Events

The elves of Cefenediel have used The Everforest for centuries.  It typically passed from the hands of one great archer to another, and was used primarily against the gnolls that encroached upon their forest.

Ongoing Operations

At the behest of the elf, Icarus, Tarerenda, the queen of the elves of Cefenediel bequeathed the magical quiver to Steel Tip shortly after his arrival on mainland Draconis.  Because his life was on the line, she willingly allowed him the gift, also due in part to his royal lineage.  He was the one who assigned it the sobriquet Woodchuck.

Heart of Ariyas

History

How it was Acquired

During Michael Kreegan’s first visit to the city of Atalatha, the festivities for Alicia Mane’s birthday party were in place.  A contest had been set in motion in one of the fairgrounds, wherein brave men could attempt to make their way through an obstacle course without being knocked down.

Despite the dangers, Michael snuck into the obstacle course, and managed to win, against all odds.  The man who had organized the obstacle course was offering up a ruby encrusted, silver pendant that was shaped like a heart.  When he attempted to keep the pendant from Michael, his family and a stranger, Stephen Caista, fought for his right to it.

Later that night, upon meeting with Alicia Mane, he gave her the item, which had been dubbed the Heart of Ariyas.

Attributes

The Heart of Ariyas bestows mystical powers upon its wielder.  Both clerical and fire magic seems to be readily available to whoever wears it.

Early Events

Over a decade after Alicia was given the Heart of Ariyas as a gift from Michael Kreegan, she attempted to visit him at an inn, The Centurion, following another contest he had taken part in.  When he did not arrive, she planned on leaving.  Brigands assaulted the inn, however, and she was forced to defend herself.

With the powers of the necklace, she was able to thwart her aggressors.  Unfortunately, the fire magic that she cast resulted in the complete destruction of the inn, along with the inhabitants inside, including its owner, Peyton Garus.
