Howdy folks. It’s been an eventful summer for fantasy, but we’re nearing the end of the season, and we want to show some other genres some love as well. Today, we have an excellent sci-fi tale to bring you from the excellent storyteller Alexis Patjane.
The Bright Light, a book that has been published for a few years now, will still catch you off guard. It’s a brilliant science fiction story with a lot of heart, and plenty of room to grow into a deeper saga. Patjane blends mystery and action incredibly well, letting the narrative unfold at an enjoyable pace. You’ll really enjoy the character developments throughout the story as well.
I stood up to continue running.
Suddenly something fell from the sky right in front of me making the ground shake. It was something big, I could feel it, but the impact lifted a cloud of sand so it was impossible for me to see.
I stood up quickly and stood still, waiting for the sand to settle.
The object was beginning to be visible.
Once the sand returned to its place, I stared with shock at what was in front of me.
I gulped with fear.
If you’re looking for a tale with a lot of breadth and a deep, rich universe, The Bright Light is an excellent read. Patjane creates a story that you’re happy to get lost in, and the mystery of the story is a big part of what makes it so enjoyable. This book is also available in paperback and audiobook.
